Lisa Mayers Obituary

Lisa M. (Bowell) Mayers began her new adventure with our Lord on February 14th, after a five year journey with breast cancer. She is survived by daughter Emilee; parents Beatrice and Norman Bowell;  sister Gina (Paradis); Emilee’s loving father Joseph Mayers; and her dear friend and first husband, John Tuttle.

Lisa was an inspiration to everyone she met with her positive, infectious smile and commitment to embracing all that life had to offer. Lisa was a professional communicator and Public Relations Consultant, who served many years on the board of the Communicators Association of the Southern Tier (CAST).  A longtime proponent of holistic and natural healing techniques, she was a distributor of Young Living therapeutic Oils for 15 years. Lisa lived her life intentionally, and trained as a Life Coach to help others find "Intentional Bliss" in their lives and share her love of life and essential oils. Throughout her struggle with cancer, she stayed incredibly positive and was truly a model for strength and endurance, and continued her writing through a blog, called Lisa’s Leap to share her journey. But it was the pure love of motherhood to her beautiful daughter Emilee that made her shine even more brightly in this world. So it is truly fitting that Lisa would chose Valentine's Day as the time to pass peacefully from this world-- a day when we intentionally and sometimes even blissfully celebrate love in this world. The family would like to thank all those who were closest to Lisa and provided so much assistance and love in her final days, especially Bernadette, BettyAnn, Mary Ann, Cornelia, Heather and Christine. Loving family members from both the Bowell’s and Zampi’s and a host of friends and colleagues round out her fan club.   Also, the family would  like to express special thanks to Lourdes Hospice and Broome Oncology for their professional and compassionate care

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 10:30 AM to Noon at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St., Endwell, NY followed by a funeral mass. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to "Lisa's Leap to Recovery", courtesy M&T Bank for Emilee's well being and education needs.  Please feel free to share your memories and messages with the family at http://www.lisasleap.net/blog.
