Anthony Joseph Tedeschi Sr., 90 of Endicott, devoted husband and father, peacefully passed away on Friday January 2nd, 2015 and was reunited with his wife of 58 years, Olga Kalinich Tedeschi. He spent the majority of his life in Endicott, New York where he grew up helping out with the family business, Tedeschi's Market on the Northside. He served with the US Army in Northern France and the Rhineland during World War II, giving 2 years, 9 months, 26 days, 14 hours, and 12 minutes of noble service. After the war, Mr. Tedeschi worked at Endicott Machine and Tool for over 35 years. After his well-deserved retirement he spent his remaining days devoted to his loving family. He could often be found at the gym working on his physical fitness with his grandson, Anthony Campo, whose unwavering support inspired vitality in Mr. Tedeschi that persisted through to the end of his life. Or, by the side of his faithful, devoted daughter, Mariya Tedeschi, who served him dutifully, often placing his needs above her own. Mr. Tedeschi is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Isabella Tedeschi, brothers Michael, Martin, Frank and Louis and sisters, Grace, Florence and Mary. He is survived by his sisters Phyllis and Lucille and their families in addition to his sons, Anthony Tedeschi Jr and Joseph Tedeschi and their spouses Cheryl and Cyndi, his daughter Mariya Tedeschi and her son Anthony Campo, and Kristina Martemucci, Gina George, and Anthony George, who considered Mr. Tedeschi family. Mr. Tedeschi was blessed again with two more grandchildren, Joey and Lesa and great grandchildren Eddie Giles and Zack Wood. As a consummate host, Mr. Tedeschi could often be found in the kitchen making traditional Italian foods for his guests, and warming their spirits with his legendary jokes. Blessed with smarts and a quick-whit, he took pride in his ability to bring a room to tears with laughter. His energy was contagious, enriching those lucky enough to be around him. Those of us who he has left behind will continue to keep his memory alive, finding solace in the faith that we will all be reunited one day, sharing jokes around the dinner table once more. A Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church 5pm Tuesday Jan. 6, 2015 with Fr. Serowik officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 4pm until the time of service. Burial in the family plot in Calvary with military honors will be at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.DeMarcofuneral.com. Arrangements were entrusted to Savage-DeMarco Funeral Home, 1605-1607 Witherill St., Endicott, NY.
